If you have ever rounded up and driven horses in miles of open country, you know it's not just a ride in the park! Driving horses 50 km a day through the Greater Caucasus Mountains and over the 3000-m high pass is a real adventure! It's possibly the most exciting thing you have ever done on horseback. It can be hot and it can be cold, it can be wet or dry or dusty, it can be fast and then slow, it can be challenging yet relaxing. It's a horse drive and anything can happen because it's the real thing! We invite you to participate in driving approximately 50 horses through 250 kilometers of open country. You will ride in an area of natural beauty, from the mountains to the semi-desert winter pastures area.
We will be transferred to the Mountains of Tusheti, Omalo by 4x4 car through the mountain road, which is enlisted in the world’s most dangerous road list by BBC in 2014. We will have dinner and be accommodated for the night at a local cozy guesthouse in Omalo.
Meet our mount, riding instructions, spend the day riding through mountain terrain (making sure every rider is confident at a walk, trot, and lope), visiting one of the valleys of Tusheti – Shenako and Diklo villages. We want you to trust your horse completely before leaving for the horse drive. Spend the night at the same guest house in Omalo
We will start and drive horses 40 plus kilometers through the Caucasus Mountains, across the Abano pass, on the same road as we drove up on our first day. We stop for our picnic lunch on the pass. At the end of the day we will end up at the thermal sulfur springs and truthfully there is not only a welcome sight than riding over that last ridge with a herd of horses but also the autumn views over the surrounding mountains. You're going to be very tired and dirty after a long day of riding! The natural warm sulfur water pools here is the perfect spot to take a nice relaxing bath (if you have biodegradable soap, all the better!). We will end the day with a hot delicious meal and lots of stories of the day’s adventure. You will be ready to retire for the evening to your nice tent or even sleep under the stars if you wish!
After breakfast breakdown, the camp, gather and saddle the horses. Round up the horses and get them heading in the right direction to the lowlands of Kakheti. Arrive in the village of Alvani where Tush families stay in wintertime whereas their livestock goes to Vashlovani National Park. Wine tasting and dinner at the local family winery.

After a tasty typical Georgian breakfast, you will head out to the plains to find the horses that have spent the night there. Once again you will saddle up and head south for today's adventure. Picnic lunch to regain some energy after the morning's exploring the beauty of the vineyards and lowland villages. Overnight in tents near Persimmon plantations.
Another day across Kakheti plains, riding between vineyards and villages. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the campsite near Dedoplistskaro.

The horses are ready and anxious to get going, after breakfast breakdown the camp, gather and saddle the horses. Round up the horses and get them heading in the right direction through some of the most beautiful golden fields. Arrive to the ranch where the horses stay in winter in the late afternoon. There will be a little relaxation time and preparation for a farewell dinner with lots of stories and songs before a good night’s rest in your tents.
After nourishing late breakfast say goodbye to the team and horses. Departure for Tbilisi. Arriving around 04:00-5:00 pm to the hotel.
