If you want to relax surrounded by beautiful nature, do plenty of horseback riding and discover the diversity of the two, Southern and northern parts of Kakheti region, witness one of nature’s greatest displays on horseback, then this is the tour for you. Every day, you will be exploring a bit more of the breathtaking surroundings on horseback and soon you cannot imagine a single day without the great companionship of the horses. When you are not on horseback, there are numerous activities and attractions close by: bird watching, wine tasting, to name only a few of them.
You will be riding with a free running herd of horses from the semi-desert area to the summer pastures in the mountains of Tusheti. Endless, unspoiled nature awaits you and your horse, with huge glaciers shimmering at the horizon, far from all tourist crowds. The spirited but reliable Tushetian horses, the committed staff and the diverse riding trails will leave you deeply satisfied. In addition to your days on horseback, you and your fellow riders will go on an exclusive sightseeing tour to some of the most famous attractions in Kakheti region. This trip is a high standard riding adventure you will never forget.
Day 1: Tbilisi - Vashlvoani Horse farm
Pick up from the hotel in Tbilisi and transfer to Dedoplistskaro, register at Visitors’ Centre of Vashlovani Protected Areas, lunch, visit the local bazaar and transfer to Vashlovani National Park.
After arrival, we’ll have a 2 hours introductory ride to adjust equipment and get acquainted to the horses.

Day 2: Vashlovani Horse Farm - Dedoplistskaro
Our first riding day. We gather up the herd, stallions, mares, foals, and young horses which we will bring up to the summer pastures and start off. You can sense the happiness of the free-running horses as we are heading towards the highland. Our ride takes us through the grain fields of Shiraki plain which is considered as a barn of Georgia. The terrain is soft and you’ll enjoy galloping along the road through the wheat fields and a breath-taking view of the greater Caucasus mountain range beyond the wheat fields. Overnight in tents close to Dedoplistskaro.

Day 3: Dedoplistskaro - Kitaani campsite
We leave the camp and ride alongside the villages of Kakheti - the primary wine region where you’ll have a chance to experience the Kakhetian hospitality and try homemade wine too. We spend the night again in tents close to one of the Kakheti villages - Ozaani, Arboshiki, Anaga, Kitaani, etc.

Day 4: Kitaani - Vilg. Alvani
The last day of exploring the beauty of the vineyards and lowland villages. We finish the day with an exciting sightseeing tour to Alaverdi monastery close to our overnight destination - Alvani where we spend the night at a local cozy guest house.

Day 5: Visiting monasteries and wine cellar
Horses need to take a day break before they head to the mountains. This is an opportunity for us to explore some historical and cultural sites of the region. In the morning we'll visit Ikalto and Alaverdi monasteries. In the afternoon we'll have late lunch and wine tasting at the small family winery.
Day 6: Vilg. Alvani - Abano campsite
We leave our guest house and head towards the mountains. We ride alongside the bank of the Stori River. We spend the night again in tents at the campsite above tree level.

Day 7: Abano campsite - Vilg. Omalo
We ascend towards the highest drivable pass in Europe – Abano pass. As we move higher to the pass the landscape gets rougher. There we have the lunch break of the day. The strong riding horses bring us safely through the ancient highland paths. We can see how the vegetation is changing into lush green colors, created by rich soil and water. After crossing the 2930m high pass and start the descent to Tusheti. A truly fascinating mystical place of silence and tranquillity we will never forget. It is peaceful and beautiful to see the horses enjoy their freedom as we leave them on the Omalo Plateau and continue our trip with our riding horses to our guest house.

Day 8: Exploring Tusheti
The day of exploring the area. Our ride brings us to discover one of the valleys of Tusheti. After discovering villages Shenako and Diklo we’ll head back to Omalo to our guesthouse for the goodbye dinner with the farmer and his crew and spend our last night in Tusheti.
